Good to know
- Coloured smoke is pyrotechnics: smoke fountains and smoke mines, fired by our pyrotechnicians, with the same rules as other fireworks
- It works best outdoors and in daylight; indoors the smoke stays hanging and sets off the fire detection
- Wind decides where the cloud goes, so we place the positions on the day
- Many colours are possible, and we line them up to draw a flag or club colours
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy coloured smoke and fire it myself?
Smoke products for consumers exist, but for a stadium, a ceremony or an event you need professional effects, a safety file and, depending on the municipality, permission. Pyred takes care of all of that.
Can you draw our flag or club colours?
Yes. At Spa-Francorchamps we drew the Belgian flag with 27 positions in a row, nine per colour.
Does coloured smoke work at night?
Only when it is lit by spotlights. In the dark, fireworks, flames or lasers usually work better.
