Stage pyro and indoor fireworks
Fountains, flashes, comets, mines and waterfalls of fire, a few metres from the artists and the audience: stage pyro is fireworks made for stages, studios, arenas and stadiums. Pyred designs it, fires it and takes care of the rules.
Two seconds of fire, exactly on the drop.
What stage pyro can do
- Fountains: a column of sparks that burns for a few seconds, the classic for walk-outs and finales
- Flashes: a short, bright burst of light and sound on the beat
- Comets and mines: stars shot into the air, one by one or in a fan
- Waterfalls: a curtain of sparks falling from a truss or a roof
- Wire rockets: small rockets that fly along a steel wire above the audience
Where you have seen it
- Concerts and festivals: ten stage pyro positions in the David Guetta festival shows, the Sabaton summer tour and the Gentse Feesten
- Stadiums: silver fountains at the walk-out of RSC Anderlecht and stadium fireworks from up to 30 positions
- Company events: ten wire rockets above the audience at ING Super Thursday in the ING Arena
- TV: indoor fireworks in studios and live shows; see special effects for TV
Indoors: yes, with the right rules
Stage pyro is real fireworks, sold in categories T1 and T2. In Belgium only people with specialised knowledge and a pyro-pass may buy and fire it, and the package states the minimum safety distance. Whether it may be fired depends on the municipality and the venue. We prepare the safety file, agree on the fire detection with the venue and fire every effect ourselves. More on fireworks permits in Belgium.
Need sparks without fireworks? Then Sparkular cold sparks are the alternative; the difference is explained on “cold fireworks” does not exist.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between stage pyro and fireworks?
Stage pyro (T1 and T2) is made for use close to performers and audience, indoors and outdoors; show fireworks (F3 and F4) goes high into the sky and needs much larger distances.
Can stage pyro be used in a TV studio or a hotel ballroom?
Often yes, with effects made for indoor use and the distances the venue requires. Some venues do not allow pyro; then we propose Sparkular cold sparks, CO₂ or confetti.
Can I buy stage pyro?
Not as a private person: in Belgium T1 and T2 are sold only to people with specialised knowledge and a pyro-pass. Pyred always comes with licensed pyrotechnicians.
