Special effects for TV and film
Pyred brings pyro, flames, CO₂, confetti, haze and lasers into TV studios, live broadcasts and film sets, from The Voice and The Masked Singer to the Eurovision Song Contest.
On TV, an effect has to work on every take, not just once.
What makes TV different
A studio is indoors, close to artists, cameras and audience. Effects are rehearsed, recorded and often repeated, so they have to be reliable and quick to reset. And the cue comes from the director or the timecode, not from the crowd.
We work with effects made for indoor use, plan them with the production and the fire safety officer, and fire them ourselves.
Effects for studio and set
- Indoor fireworks: bursts of sparks, fiery waterfalls and flashes
- Spark fountains (cold sparks)
- Flame machines
- CO₂ cannons, low-lying fog and haze
- Confetti cannons and streamers
- Lasers

Frequently asked questions
Can pyro be used in a TV studio?
Yes, with fireworks made for indoor use, with the distances the studio requires and in agreement with the production and the fire service.
Can an effect be repeated for a second take?
Yes. We plan reloads and spare effects with the production, so a cue can be repeated in rehearsal and recording.
Do you work on timecode?
Yes. We can fire effects on timecode, so they hit the same frame every take, or on a cue from the director.
Do you also work on film sets?
Yes. We supply effects and technicians for film and series, from a single specialist to a full team.
