Safety files and a trained crew
Every Pyred show comes with its own safety file, and is built and fired by a crew trained and certified for pyrotechnics, special effects and work on site. That is what lets venues, cities and fire services say yes.
Tomorrow: your reward for working safely today.
What is in a safety file
For every show we put together a safety file for the organiser, the venue and the authorities. Depending on the event, it contains:
- The project and the people: the event, the dates, the person responsible for the effects and the contacts on site
- Every effect and machine, with photo, manual, certificates and safety data sheets
- Risk analyses per type of effect: fireworks, gas and liquid flames, CO₂, spark fountains, electricity, working at height and handling
- Safety drawings and site plans: where each effect stands and which safety distance applies
- Permits and approvals relating to the event
- Emergency information for the country of the event: emergency numbers, poison control and the nearest burns centres
We make these files with our own software, so every show gets a complete and up-to-date file, also at short notice.
A trained and certified crew
Our pyrotechnicians and technicians are trained for the effects they fire and for the work around them. Our crew holds certifications such as:
- Firefighting: our crew follows a basic firefighting course, with practice on real fires
- Pyrotechnics: the French F4-T2 certificate, the Dutch certificates of professional competence for large fireworks and for pyrotechnic special effects, and the British ASP Practical Pyrotechnics safety course
- Safety on site: VCA/SCC for operational supervisors and basic firefighting
- Working at height: IPAF for cherry pickers, boom and scissor lifts, fall protection and scaffolding
- Electricity and handling: BA4 and BA5 electrical qualifications and forklift
Pyred also has its own official storage facility for pyrotechnics, so fireworks are stored and transported as the law requires.
